March 2026: NEW AC and Upgraded Heating!
Routine seasonal maintenance revealed myn home needed AC replaced and total system upgrade. Plus, squared away my gas fireplace too!

Again, Sam with his team under brother Emil, did an excellent installation, (military "dress right dress" standards), clear operational training, and great price for premium product and service!

One of the best if not the best HVAC companies in the Portland area!

2019:
Sam and MP Heating and Air Conditioning service has a varied Yelp review rating. Having been in business as an owner and an executive employee in the home improvements industry, it is difficult to get completely fair reviews as customers get emotional when things do not go right and sometimes the issue is not entirely clear. One issue I notice in the the service industry is that an accurate estimate over the telephone is difficult. Knowing this, I expected the cost for my situation to most likely be higher as I diagnosed one of the problems myself and knew that I could buy the part for $60 and possibly install it correctly. However, I was not completely sure, so I made the call. When Sam did the install, I saw there was much more to it than I would have done.

I recently bought the home and noticed there wasn't any kind of sticker showing a service call in this 10 year old unit so I felt it was best to have the whole system inspected. That is exactly what Sam did explaining everything as he went along. Upon authorizing, he did a thorough cleaning of the entire heating/AC system, checked everything, made a few adjustments, replaced the condensate pump which I already knew needed replacing and made a recomendation for one more possible repair that needed a warmer day to test.

I know dedication to excellence when I see it. Sam did everything paying attention to detail, taking the extra step to make the repair with cleanliness, securing wires properly, respecting the home cleanliness as he worked on a damp day, and engaging with us professionally. His family should be proud of the man he is in manner and character.

Pricing: As mentioned before, it is hard to give an accurate price over the telephone as you must inspect the system thoroughly for an accurate proposal. This was a Saturday and so a house call is a little more which was listed on the website and told to me on the telephone; the cost of the pump was a little higher than if I went to the store and bought it and that is OK (mark-ups are expected in a service business). The inspection cost was exactly as quoted and as we went along and I asked for more work to get done. It was only $150 more than quoted on the telephone for the original service. I think this is very fair for the excellent work, in fact, it is more than fair for also getting a pleasant experience.

You can always find a cheaper price in products/services and generally, this comes with average to poor quality and work. Premium service requires premium prices in business. This is how you keep great employees that provide excellent service and sustain your business. You want a great anything? You pay more for that product or service. This is life and I have almost always found this as truth as a consumer and definitely in business operations.

Do you want great service and a fair price? Sam, MP Heating and Air Conditioning is a good, reliable team. They have my support and confidence to take care of a very major system in my home for as long as I own this property. I highly recommend them for their services. ~R.C.

Sam and his team at MP Heating & Air Conditioning were amazing.  I had multiple different companies provide quotes for new AC and Furnace.

They were priced competitively, but the real reason I chose them was their customer service!

They provided great information when analyzing my homes heating and cooling needs.  They are a no pressure company and you can tell they care about their clients.  They are all friendly, efficient and do high quality work!  Highly recommend them for all your HVAC needs.  Price are competice

MP Heating and Air were an absolute delight to work with. We had a dual zone heat pump installed in our finished attic and in our unventilated addition. They gave us a competitive quote, but even if they had given us a more expensive price than their competitors, I think we would have gone with them just for their truly excellent customer service. Everyone who was involved in the process from the initial quote to the actual installation was considerate and clearly cared very much about the quality of their work, as well as seeming to be just genuinely kind. They did a fantastic job hiding the refrigerant lines that had to run through the laundry room, as well as making the outdoor unit blend right in next to my existing AC. At the very end of the process, they tested out the condensate pump and realized the pump they installed made an extremely loud rattling noise- and they replaced it with a much nicer, nearly silent, better looking pump on their own initiative. I have definitely worked with contractors who would have called that loud pump "good enough"- the fact that they considered that that pump would be a huge pain in a bedroom and changed it out shows they really care about the quality of their work and the satisfaction of their customers. I would highly recommend MP Heating & Air Conditioning to anybody who needs an HVAC project done. They're true tradespeople who take pride in their work and care about your satisfaction.

Sam and his team of expert craftsmen are the absolute best in the business.  They listen, then they do WAY more than expected.  They are great communicators, very professional, extremely skilled, intelligent, hard working and kind.  I wish every contractor was like this team.  They are 11/10. Sam and his crew were so great! They came out next morning after our water heater broke and had a new one installed the next day. He also noticed our roof vent was in bad shape and we had them replace that as well.
